We entered through the front door (this is technically a private residence) and we're immediately greeted by the hostess. She was very warm friendly and took us on a little tour of the grounds after we checked in. After the tour, we decided to go up to our room (there's only 8 total at this place). We opted for the Hawaiian Views Suite. This room was amazing! Very spacious and full of amenities. King sized bed was comfy and the linens are soft. There was a fireplace (didn't need it) and a two person Jacuzzi hot tub with bay widows that looked out toward the grounds and ocean. You also have a private balcony with which to sit and relax on and just enjoy the waves crashing below or the sunset.

My wife and I were traveling around the entire Big Island of Hawaii as part of our trip. We decided to stay near Hilo one night so that we could explore that part of the island. The Palms Cliff House Inn is a little tough to see off the highway, but once you enter, it's like a little hidden paradise. There's a little windy driveway that takes you from the highway around the grounds and then opens up to reveal a beautiful Victorian style plantation home. The house is situated right above the black rock cliffs. The ocean below is well heard around the property. The grounds are lush and tropical and makes it feel like you're plopped in the middle of a rain forest.

We had a wonderful time at The Palms Cliff House Inn. We stayed one night as we were passing through Hilo. The lady who checked us in and served us breakfast the next morning was a sweet, kind employee. She gave us a little tour and told us everything there was to know about the property. We loved the spa in the suite. It was so relaxing after a day at Volcano National Park, and it truly does fit 2 people - so one of us didn't have to wait to relax. The room, Hawaiian Views, was a very nice room with a wonderful ocean view. Nothing like falling asleep and waking to the sounds of the ocean. Be warned, the roosters will wake you up if you keep the slider/windows open. We never got to meet the owners, but as I mentioned, the lady greeting us did a wonderful job. The only downside I see is the price per night. I know B&B are a bit more, but I think they could sell out the place if they brought the price down a tad. It should be shared with more people, it's a beautiful location.

A little tired, but a beautiful spot, very quiet.

Clean, quaint, beautiful, secluded. Near nice sites looks akaka falls. WiFi weak.

The next morning, we woke up and headed down to the outdoor dining room which has a view of the coast and ocean. Breakfast was amazing. They served a delicious quiche with fresh pineapple slices, along with a fresh baked lemon poppy seed muffin.

The only thing I would say I didn't care for was the price and the only reason I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 star rating.

Charming place, beautiful views, very warm and welcoming. We loved having breakfast on the porch.
